Tammy Worth is an award-winning writer and editor specializing in health care reporting.
Tammy works as a full-time freelance writer and has written for The Economist, Bloomberg, Health.com, Healthcare Finance News and KCPT, Kansas City's public television station. She is a former columnist for the Los Angeles Times Health section, penning "Practical Matters." Tammy writes for a number of health care trade publications including Chiropractic Economics and Medical Economics. She has also done work in the nonprofit realm, writing for the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and The Commonwealth Fund.
Prior to working as a freelancer, Tammy worked as both Managing Editor and Reporter for the Sun newspapers in Johnson County, Kan., where she regularly wrote features and general news articles on a variety of topics. As a writer, her coverage areas included education, health care and religion.
Tammy received a bachelor’s degree in English with a French minor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. She lives in a suburb of Kansas City, Mo.
